  • The candidate is responsible for administration installation modification, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairs of all network related hardware.
  • Installing and configuring operating systems and applications.
  • The administration including but not limited to security appliances, routers, switches and network monitoring system.
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
  • Pro-active in ensuring stability, response time, operational consistency and lifecycle over the network.
  • To maintain the monthly working reports including the I.T. Network jobs, quality and performance of the work.
  • To maintain the network servers and responsible of the administration.
  • Managing of mail server, online web server and other online services.
  • Interact with users and assist them resolving their problems.
  • Maintain printers and their cartridges.
  • Able to work under pressure.

PTCL Block Porn Websites

Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA) has recently take stick action against porn, sex, abusive websites and blogs to not open in Pakistan. This action has already applied on all other sub-DSL providers companies. Including, Wateen, Cybernet, Micronet, LinkdotNet, Wi-tribe, Mobilinkinfinity and COMSATS. Ghazi Muhammad Abdullah, a 15-year-old 9th grader, had written to the Chief Justice to take notice of the porn websites, which are easily and freely accessible in Pakistan. Abdullah had approached Chief Justice after failed attempt of convincing IT Ministry and PTA for blocking these objectionable websites on which PTA take Strict Action. Note: Back in October last year, the PTA had issued directives to all broadband operators in Pakistan to block about 1,000 porn websites in Pakistan with immediate effect. Many broadband/DSL operators took immediate action and provided compliance reports (via email) to PTA within a day.
